13.12.2008 International Dog Show Winner 2008

Vuoden 2008 Voittaja – apsot. ROP Soleydan Reality Bites ja VSP Free Spirits Smart’ N Sassy. There were nearly 8000 dogs from 12 countries at the Finnish Kennel Club Winner Show in Helsinki. Lhasa Apso (24 Lhasas) males and BOB were done by Hans Almgren, Sweden. Bitches were judged by Frank Kane who came from Great Britain. Sassy and Ilona had a lovely day, Sassy ended up as BOS and got the Finnish Winner 2008 title!

Sain esittää myös shih tzuja, joita tässä näyttelyssä oli 37. Shih tzut arvosteli Hans Almgren Ruotsista.
Ystäväkoirani Ch Aksu Lord And Master, ”Jekku”, oli hienosti PU 3 suuressa Paras Uros – luokassa. Suloinen nuori ”Bambi”, Saffron Sherhy Ursa Major, nappasi itselleen Juniori Voittaja 2008 - tittelin. Kiitos Sanna ja Toini kun sain mahdollisuuden esittää koirianne! Ilona
Ilona handled Shih Tzu too. At this Winner Show there were 37 Shih Tzu. Shih Tzus were judged by Hans Almgren, Sweden. Ch Aksu Lord And Master ended up as Best Male 3 and the sweet young “Bambi”, Saffron Sherhy Ursa Major, gained the Finnish Junior Winner 2008 – title! Thank you Toini and Sanna for letting Ilona handle your sweet dogs!

26.10.08 Wonderful Shih Tzu weekend!

On Saturday Ilona drove to groom our friend’s lovely Shih Tzus and on Sunday all the gang travelled to the Seinäjoki International All Breed Dog Show. And what a day it was! The dogs really enjoyed their day out! The good results of the day were: young Pitzi BOB-puppy, her mother Mimmi resCACIB and Jekku, Ch Aksu Lord And Master, Best of Breed, Group 1 and he ended as Best In Show 2! Thank you judges Kristiina Ahlberg and Rainer Vuorinen!
Ihana Shih tzu viikonloppu! Ilona aloitti viikonlopun ajamalla Toinin luo Kannukseen koiria pesemään ja sunnuntaina koko porukka matkusti Seinäjoen kansainväliseen koiranäyttelyyn. Hienon päivän tulokset olivat pikku Pitzi ROP-pentu, äitinsä Mimmi varacacib ja Jekku-poika, Ch Aksu Lord And Master, ROP, RYP1 ja päivän huipennukseksi Best In Show 2! Terveiset iloiselle kannustusjoukolle! Lämpimät kiitokset rotutuomarille Kristiina Ahlbergille sekä ryhmätuomarille Rainer Vuoriselle.

4.10.2008  Dog parade in Kokkola

Kokkola Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals organized their annual dog march on the 4th of October (it is the Animal Day). This time the happening was sponsored by Royal Canin, they had promised to give 500g dog food for each paw (2kg per dog) for the animal rescue home. It was a fine day; there were about 150 dogs with their owners taking part in the parade. In this pic you can find Ilona and Madde, Anki and Boston, Maarit with her setters and Janika with her Afghan Hound and Cavalier.

Kokkolan eläinsuojeluyhdistys järjesti vuosittaisen koiramarssin eläintenpäivänä 4.10.08. Tapahtuma oli tällä kertaa Royal Caninin sponsoroima. He olivat luvanneet lahjoittaa 500g ruokaa jokaista tassua kohti löytöeläinkodille. Marssiin osallistui noin 150 koiraa omistajineen, muiden muassa Ilona ja Madde.

6.9.2008 The Annual Lhasa Apso Club Show

6.9.2008 The Annual Lhasa Apso Club Show was held in Pori this year. This time we had only our 2 Lhasas in short cut, Miisa and Toivo, with us. There were 21 Lhasa Apsos in the different classes at this show. Miisa took part only in two fun classes. In the “Best Brace”-competition with Toivo they ended as the Second Best Brace. At the end of the day we had a delightful “Glamour Class” - competition and our Miisa “ the Rose girl” and her outfit took the first prize in this class.

Lhasa Apso ry:n järjestämä Club Show – tapahtuma pidettiin tänä vuonna Porissa. Meillä oli mukanamme vain lyhytturkkiset apsomme Miisa ja Toivo (sekä Madde - kingcalle kannustamassa apsoja ; ) Miisa osallistui Toivon kanssa parikilpailuun ja kaverukset päätyivät päivän toiseksi parhaaksi pariksi. Näyttely päättyi iloiseen ”Glamour” luokka – kilpailuun, jonka Miisa ”Ruusutyttö” asusteineen voitti!
Lämpimät kiitokset tuomarillemme Kirsti Louhelle todella mukavasta ja rennosta päivästä!

Toivo was the judge’s choice for the Best Lhasa Apso In Short Cut at this show and he ended as the Best Male 3 among the males in show coats.
Toivo oli tuomarin valinta päivän parhaaksi lyhytturkkiseksi lhasa apsoksi. Toivo ponnisti vielä paras uros kolmoseksi, paras uros – kisassa pitkäturkkisten apsourosten joukossa!

20.7.2008 Ylivieska International All Breed Show.

King Charles Spaniels were done by Mrs. Marjatta Pylvänäinen – Suorsa. Madde got Excellent and ended up as second best bitch and got reserve CAC and reserve CACIB. Madde’s litter sister Chic Choix Dear Claudette, “Mimosa”, (owned by her breeder Juha Kares) took the first prize and ended up as BOS. Well done little girls!
Thank you Seija for sharing your tent with us and thank you Toini for letting Ilona handle your sweet Shih Tzu boy “Jekku” in the group finals. Give “Pitzi” a special hug from us!

Sisarukset Mimosa ja Madde! Pikku tytöt pärjäsivät hienosti.
Kiitos Toini, kun Ilona sai esittää ryhmäkehässä Jekku – poikaa (shih tzu) ja ”kummitytölle” Pizille haleja Kokkolasta! Seija, kiitos kun saimme olla telttasi varjossa. Oli mukava kesäpäivä!

12.7.2008 Oulu International All Breed Show.

 Lhasa Apsos were judged by Michael Camac from Australia. Michael Camac is known for the famous Amesen Lhasa Apso. We are really happy that Sassy was his choice for the best bitch 1and BOS among 20 Lhasas which were shown at this show.
(The show ground was one of the worst we have ever visited, the dogs, the judge and all the people in the ring had to wade in a long wet grass!).

Australialainen rotuspesialisti Michael Camac (Amesen lhasa apsot) veti 20 lhasa apsoa Ouluun.. Tuntui hienolta kun Sassy oli hänen valintansa apsokehän parhaaksi nartuksi.

3.-8.7.2008

I had a great journey with Madde to the World Dog Show. The Charlies were judged by Mrs. Renee Sporre- Willes. There were 59 Charlies entered in Stockholm. It was really lovely to meet so many Charlies and their owners during the weekend. Greetings to all of you!
I also want to thank all of you who have made this possible by advising me and by practicing with me, thank you friends!

King Charles Spaniel Club Show

When Ilona and Madde were back in Finland we were able to visit the King Charles Spaniel Club Show in Tuusula. It was really a nice evening. The Charlies were judged by the All Rounder judge  Jeanie Montford, who came from Australia. She also is the breeder of the world famous Elvenhome Cavaliers and she has had King Charles Spaniels too.
Madde got a rosette from the junior class. At the Club Show there were “fun classes” too in which the visitors could also take part. In the “Glamour Glass” Madde took the first prize Sassy Lhasa being the second. In the “Visitors class” it was Sassy’s turn to take the first prize.     

Ilona ja Madde ystävineen tekivät hienon näyttelymatkan Tukholmaan Maailman Voittaja - näyttelyyn. Maddella oli kotiin tuomisina Juniori Maailman Voittajan titteli.
Kotimatkalla koko perheellä oli mahdollisuus osallistua Kingcallejen Club Show tapahtumaan Tuusulassa.

In the Glamour class Sassy was handled by Johanna Häkkinen. Thank you Johanna! Sassy and her outfit took the second prize.

Jeanie Montford and the beautiful rosette from the Glamour Class! ”Very royal outfit, English roses and royal king charles purple” said the judge Jeanie Montford when looking at Madde.

Madde’s grandfather Contrariwise Café Au Lait, “Ollie”, was the Best In Show Charlie and mom Annie ended up as BOS.

Some of our Lhasa friends also came to have picnic with us. It was such a lovely afternoon in the middle of this rainy summer! (Our Lhasas Toivo and Miisa joined the Charlie Happening too).
Oli mukava viettää piknikkiä ystävien kanssa ja mikä parasta, tapahtuma iltapäiväksi sattui kaunis ja lämmin ilma keskellä tätä melkoisen sateista kesää! Apsomme, “Toivo” ja “Miisa” olivat myös mukana kannustamassa Maddea ja Sassya.

21.6.2008 Sassy and Ilona visited an International All Breed Show in Gällivare, in Sweden. The judge, Igor Selimovic, came from Croatia. At this show Sassy was Best Bitch 1 and got her second CACIB from Sweden. She ended as BOS.

This picture is taken on the way home. Our friends were with their Maltese and they did well at the shows too.  This is the Santa Claus Park and it is located just by the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi.

You can see reindeer when you drive there in the north – or, who knows, he may be Santa’s own reindeer on a summer holiday! ; )

Next weekend, 7.6.2008, Sassy did it again, she went BOB under Mr. Paavo Mattila with very nice comments.

1.6.2008 Great news! A weekend to remember. While we were having a party here at home (our son has passed his matriculation examinations) Sassy was in Sweden at the Piteå Int. All Breed Show with our friedns Anki and Sirkka. Sassy did really well, she went BOB and got the CACIB which made her an International Champion! The judge for Lhasa Apsos was Cindy Pettersson from Sweden. Sassy ended as Group 4. Thank you Anki for taking such a good care of Sassy and for showing her to perfection!

27.4.2008 Vaasa Int. Championship Dog Show :Lhasa Apso Free Spirits Smart'N Sassy, "Sassy" was BOS. The judge Ms. Olga Dolejsova came from Czech. (I'm sorry that you can't see her face in this pic).

Madde, the Charlie, has also been shown in a few shows, she has mostly been "very good". Here you can read what some of the judges have said about her.

Tineke Pillement-Heijden from Netherland: "Lovely tricolor bitch, 1 year old, very nice feminine domed head. Nice ear set, dark eye with peddling expression, nice turn up, very well developed in body, nicely built overall. Lovely coat condition.."

Hans v.d.Berg (Netherland) "Very nice in type, lovely head, low set ears. Round dark eyes. Good nose placement, good front and rear, tail could be better, She needs time to improve the movement.".

20.4.2008 at the Jyväskylä Int Dog Show Madde's mom, sweet "Annie" was BOB and Madde's handsome grandfather "Ollie" was BOS under breederjudge Lotta Bregström (Sweden). Thank you Susanne for letting Ilona handle Annie to this nice win!

23.2.2008 Sassy, the Lhasa Apso and Madde, the Charlie, entered the Tornio Dog Show.
Sassy was BOS. Lhasa Apsos were judged by Mr. Markku Kipinä from Finland. Madde was
shown in a junior class and she got "Very Good" from Mrs. Marjatta Pylvänäinen-Suorsa, Finland.
